Hello.

I'm writing this very sad message to make you aware of a new law that the Swedish parliament passed the 18'th of July that allow FRA, National Defence Radio, to monitor all Internet and phone communications that crosses the nations border to fight back mysterious "external threats" (which is weird, since Sweden have been officially neutral in 200 years).

As you know, Internet messages do not take the geographically closest route to it's destination, so it's more a rule than exception that data passes our border. This is where you come in. Your (European) traffic will also pass our borders and thus be under surveillance.

AFAIK, FRA haven't said what the will do with 100% non-Swedish traffic, but it doesn't matter since we can't trust them. Not after the way they have treated this law. There are even rumours that all data that the FRA collects will/may be sold to USA, etc.

What can we do? In Sweden we'll try to invalidate the law, since passing it wasn't properly or democratically handled. We'll also try to educate people to encrypt their mail and connections.

I would like you to help by sending a mail to your government where you ask them how they will ensure your privacy.

There is also a (currently small) page for information in english, and with links to other English language-pages:

Also, please forward this email to any person or group that might like to see it.

Take care, and may your privacy be saved!
